Trauma-Savvy Coaching

A compassionate, collaborative approach to healing after betrayal

Betrayal can leave you questioning so much—what happened, what comes next, what you can trust, and sometimes even what you know to be true. For some women, that betrayal may involve infidelity or an affair. For others, it may involve pornography addiction, sex addiction, compulsive sexual behavior, secrecy, or another form of relational betrayal.

You may be overwhelmed by what has happened.

You may be trying desperately to understand your partner or wondering whether your relationship can be saved.

You may be facing decisions you don't feel ready to make.

You don't have to figure all of that out before you begin.

Trauma-savvy coaching offers a supportive space to slow things down, talk about what's happening, and explore whatever feels most important right now.

Our work is collaborative. I don't decide what healing should look like for you or tell you what choices you should make.

We begin where you are.

What Does Trauma-Savvy Mean?

Trauma-savvy coaching recognizes that betrayal can profoundly affect your sense of safety, trust, connection, and even your confidence in your own perceptions.

It also recognizes that when your world has been disrupted, your attention may understandably be focused on what happened, what your partner is doing, whether you can trust what you're being told, and what all of this means for your relationship or family.

There is room for those questions here.

We don't have to rush past them or immediately turn your attention somewhere else.

Instead of beginning with “What should you do?” we can slow things down and become curious:

What is happening right now?
What feels most frightening or uncertain?
What feels most important today?
What might help?

And, when there is room:

What do you need?
What is your own inner voice telling you?

The goal isn't to rush you toward an answer or a particular outcome.

Your story is yours. Your choices are yours. Your pace is yours.

Professional Foundations of My Approach

My approach is informed by the Trauma-Savvy Coaching approach articulated by Rae Gaelyn Emerson, whose work emphasizes partnering with clients through trauma and transition while co-creating a foundation of safety and stability.

My work is also informed by training in the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM) developed by the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS). The MPTM approaches betrayal through a trauma lens and draws, in part, from Dr. Judith Herman’s foundational work on safety and stabilization, remembrance and mourning, and reconnection.

These professional influences helped shape how I understand the needs of women healing after betrayal. The Reflections in the Waves Journey — Safety, Stability, Self-Trust, and Growth — is the client-facing coaching framework I use to organize and bring these principles into my work.

What Coaching With Me May Look Like

There is no prescribed path you have to follow.

Depending on where you are and what you need, our work might include:

  • finding steadier ground when everything feels overwhelming

  • talking through what has happened and what feels uncertain now

  • navigating difficult conversations, relationship questions, and choices

  • making room for anger, grief, confusion, and loss

  • processing the impact of infidelity, pornography use, sexual betrayal, or other relational betrayal

  • exploring your needs, boundaries, and what helps you feel safer

  • when you're ready, strengthening trust in your own instincts, judgment, and voice

Some days the work may be about getting through today.

Other days it may be about imagining what you want your life to hold next.

Both belong here.

Your Pace. Your Voice. Your Choices.

You are the expert on your own lived experience.

My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, reflect what I'm hearing, and offer education, perspectives, practices, and tools when they may be helpful.

You decide what we explore.
You decide what feels useful.
You decide what you're ready for.

And that can include talking about your partner or your relationship for as long as those questions matter to you.

You are always allowed to say:

“I don't know yet.”

Your choices remain yours.

The Reflections in the Waves Journey

My coaching is grounded in four interconnected spaces:

Safety • Stability • Self-Trust • Growth

The Journey offers a compassionate way to notice where you are and what kind of support may be helpful right now.

A Note About Coaching

Trauma-savvy coaching is a non-clinical partnership. It does not replace psychotherapy, mental health treatment, medical care, or crisis support.

Some women work with a coach, some with a therapist, and some find that the two can complement one another.

You Don't Have to Know Where to Begin

YYou don't need to know exactly what kind of support you need before reaching out.

You don't need to have your story organized.

And you don't need to know what you want to do about your relationship.

A complimentary Reflection Call gives us a chance to talk about what's happening and whether working together feels like a good fit.
